Pier Repair - 2019
The previous summer, a pier had been purchased from Näpsä, which when ordered was designed to withstand even the worst winters. But what do you know, the bridge between it had failed the very first spring.
Näpsä accepted to send replacement wooden parts and pay for the repair itself. Their Eastern Finland representative had quit and our Luumäki handyman came to handle the job.
And the pier was almost as good as new, and in the summer, inspired by our friend Jaakko's experiences, Jari painted the pier red-brown.
Also with the coming years in mind, more detailed instructions were requested on equipping the pier for winter conditions. It required tightening the chains and raising the bridge to allow room for movement.
