Summer 2022 - Pier change

It was already May before we got to the cottage. And yes, we were going to leave immediately, when the Näpsä pier had suffered vey bad damage. The company didn't want to discuss it any further, they plainly said that the spring weather had been exceptionally difficult, and it didn't help when we told them that the piers all around seemed not to have suffered at all.

However, the bitterness had to be swallowed and we had to look forward. The plan was to get, this time, a local and reliable operator. Although the investment was a bit much, we managed to move parts of the old one to the other side of the island for use.

The Sauna pier is pretty much exactly to the west and to the South we have had part of the pier that was there before us and now we got an extension deck for it. And the rest of the broken pier is our "brand new" pier facing to the northeast. Both are more knock-offs than proper piers, but fill their purpose.

We contacted the Savorak company and they came to do a survey first, then they designed a pier that better suits the site.

The installation of the new pier went amazingly well, the new one was delivered by them, and the installation only took a few hours.

A boat like this was used to bring the pier

So we no longer recommend the Näpsä Piers, but Savorak Piers works more reliably here at least.
