Our Story

Sinikka and Jari Backman have been together since the summer of 1979

They live as retirees in Finland, in the Mustola district of Lappeenranta near the Saimaa Canal
Sinikka is a barefoot Lappeenranta resident, by profession sales technician
Jari came from Porvoo a long time ago and worked as a professor at the University of Lappeenranta

The home has also included a dog and five cats

We spent three years in Ha Noi, Viet Nam getting to know everything to a different culture.

Our summers are now spent in Kuikanpesä, on our lovely island in Kivijärvi, Luumäki.
