Introducing Slooh Telescopes

Slooh currently has three observatories in areas where telescopes operate in the best conditions on Earth. On Tenerife, on the slopes of the Teide volcano at an altitude of 2,372 meters above sea level, there are six telescopes. The largest of them has a primary mirror of more than half a meter (20 inches). In La Dehesa, Chile, there are four telescopes at an altitude of 1,450 meters above sea level, the largest being 432 mm (17 inches). In Siding Springs, Australia, there is a half-meter telescope similar to the one in the Canary Islands at an altitude of 806 meters above sea level. These observatories cover the Earth so that at all hours of the day, you can see images of space.

Canary Islands Teide

Among other international observatories on the slopes of Teide are three Slooh observatory domes, with three reflecting and three refreacting telescopes and one astrograph:

Canary One

Slooh's largest telescope, the Planewave CDK20, with a mirror diameter of 508 mm (20 inches). The black-and-white FLI PL09000 camera has seven Astrodon filters. Focal length 3453 mm, f/6.8 and FOV 37 * 37 arcminutes. Unlike the others, the telescope has 10-minute mission intervals.

Canary Two Wide

Slooh's Planewave CDK17 telescope, with a mirror diameter of 432 mm (17 inches). The black and white FLI PL16803 camera has seven Astrodon filters. Focal length 2938 mm, f/6.8 and FOV 43 * 43 arcminutes.

Canary Two Ultrawide

Slooh telescope TeleVue 85GXF, with a lens diameter of 85 mm. The black and white SBIG ST-10XME camera has four Astrodon filters. Focal length 279 mm, f/2.2 and FOV 107 * 72 arcminutes. The telescope is on top of a larger tube on the same tripod, so you can observe a narrower and wider field of view of the object.

Canary Three Deep Sky

Slooh telescope Celestron RASA, with a lens diameter of 85 mm. The telescope has an SBIG ST-10XME camera with four Astrodon filters. Focal length 620 mm, f/2.2 and FOV 106 * 72 arcminutes.

Canary Four Solar

A Celestron Edge-HD 1400 Slooh telescope with a mirror diameter of 356 mm. A ZWO ASI 294MC color camera is connected to the telescope. Focal length 3910 mm, f/11 and FOV 16 * 12 arcminutes.

Canary Spectroscope

A StellaMira 80 ED Slooh telescope with a lens diameter of 80 mm. Black and white ZWO ASI 294MC camera. Focal length 800 mm, f/10 and FOV 57 * 38 arcminutes. The camera has a Star Analyser 100 diffraction grating. The telescope is on top of a larger tube on the same stand, so you can observe a narrower and wider field of view of the object.

Canary Five Solar

Slooh telescope Lunt LS60THa, with a lens diameter of 60 mm. A ZWO ASI 585MC color video camera is connected to the telescope. Focal length 500 mm, f/8.3 and FOV 77 * 43 arcminutes.

Chile La Dehesa

On the slopes of La Dehesa, Chile, there are two Slooh observatory domes with six reflecting telescopes:

Chile One

Slooh telescope Celestron Edge-HD 1400 with a mirror diameter of 356 mm. The telescope has a ZWO ASI 294MC color camera and four Astrodon filters. Focal length 3910 mm, f/11 and FOV 16 * 12 arcminutes.

Chile Two Wide

Slooh telescope Planewave CDK17 with a mirror diameter of 432 mm (17 inches). The black and white FLI PL16803 camera has eight Astrodon filters. Focal length 2938 mm, f/6.8 and FOV 43 * 43 arcminutes.

Chile Three Lunar

Slooh telescope Celestron Edge- HD 1400 with a mirror diameter of 356 mm. The telescope has a Celestron Skyris 236C. Focal length 3910 mm, f/11 and FOV 8.4 * 5.3 arcminutes.

Australia Coonabarabran

Among other international observatories on the slopes of Siding Spring are three Slooh observatory domes, which house three reflector and three lens telescopes, as well as an astrograph:

Australia One

Slooh's largest telescope is the Planewave CDK20, with a mirror diameter of 508 mm (20 inches). The black-and-white FLI PL09000 camera has eight Chroma Technology filters. Focal length 3453 mm, f/6.8, and FOV 37 * 37 arcminutes.
