Summer 2024
Jari's brother Samuli suggested that he come and help cut down the tree that had fallen on the shed and at the same time use a chainsaw to cut down the large tree that had fallen behind the cottage. He also had sturdy scaffolding that would give him a safe foothold on the roof line.
Jari was a bit hesitant, but eventually in early June Samuli appeared in Sahanranta with his trailer.
Unfortunately, it turned out that it was not possible to move everything we needed onto our boat and we decided to continue the journey with lighter equipment and if necessary, we would get more when we knew exactly where we could help.
Well, those scaffolding wasn't needed anyway, and with Samuli's efficient work pace, the tree that had fallen on the shed had disappeared into pieces in less than two hours.
Next we moved on to the fallen pine tree behind the cottage. There were some problems with the chainsaw, as it could only work for a short time before overheating.
So we took cooling breaks in addition to the lunch break and almost the entire tree was chopped up. Jari only had a small part left, after 95% of the job was done.
An otherwise great day took a turn for the worse when some scoundrel drove at high speed behind Samuli's trailer. And this unfortunate guy didn't stay to figure it out, but managed to escape from where he came from. I hope Samuli at least gets compensation for all the repairs.
